For Rachel DeAmbrose, wine is the wonderful convergence of culture, nature, hard work, and serendipitous occasion. Her interest in all things food and wine developed at an early age around the family table. Then, working and exploring every facet of the restaurant industry throughout her global travels.
Taking her passion to a new level, she enrolled in New York’s International Culinary Center Intensive Sommelier Training Program and achieved Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. She continued her training in Champagne. Again, exploring every facet of viticulture and the wine making process at a small but highly-regarded Champagne house.
Stateside once again, she accepted a position as a wine steward at the renowned Bern's Steak House. Subsequently, she was quickly promoted to Assistant Sommelier and soon after Sommelier. The first woman and youngest in Bern’s history. DeAmbrose made her way through the vast James Beard award-winning wine cellar of rare and extremely sought-after vintages. Thereafter, she became an integral part of the 3-person team who was celebrated in 2016. They were winners of the James Beard award for Best Wine Program.
DeAmbrose now hosts private wine events globally at venues she hand-picks for their wine list. Rachel partners with organizations like Tech Talk Summits, the #1 IT networking events forum, as well as hosting Wine Whimsies private events. From boutique growers to established vineyards, her curated picks bring a convivial vibe to these unique experiences. You can register for an event near you or join virtually.
