For Rachel, wine is the wonderful convergence of culture, nature, hard work, and serendipitous occasion. Her interest in all things food and wine developed at an early age around the family table, then working and exploring every facet of the restaurant industry throughout her travels.
Taking her passion to a new level, she enrolled in New York’s International Culinary Center Intensive Sommelier Training Program and achieved Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. She continued her training in Champagne, again exploring every facet of viticulture and the wine making process at a small but highly-regarded Champagne house.
Stateside once again, she accepted a position as a wine steward at the renowned Bern's Steak House, was quickly promoted to Assistant Sommelier and soon after Sommelier, the first woman and youngest in Bern’s history. Making her way through the vast James Beard award-winning wine cellar of rare and extremely sought-after vintages, Rachel was an integral part of the 3-person team celebrated in 2016 as winner of the James Beard award for Best Wine Program. She now hosts private wine events globally at venues she hand-picks for their wine list.
